The online Master of Science in Marketing program is an ideal program for those looking to advance their marketing skills while contributing to their careers and communities in new and innovative ways. Students will complete coursework covering all facets of marketing, including marketing strategy, advertising, promotions, sales, digital marketing, analytics, consumer behavior, financial management, and ethics. This 33-credit, online Master of Science in Marketing's applied curriculum has been designed to cover current topics in the ever-evolving world of marketing. 

NOTE: Classes start July 2022 on the Burgundy track.

 

What is Unique About This Program?

COMPLETE REAL WORK PROJECTS. Students will engage in experiential learning through coursework projects for real employers, allowing them to master real-world skills, grow expertise, and adapt to complex industries.

GRADUATE IN 1 YEAR. With six term starts per year, and courses taught in eight-week terms, students can complete this accelerated 100% online M.S. in Marketing program in as little as 12 months. The GRE or GMAT are not required.

INDUSTRY LEADING FACULTY. CSU Global faculty have marketing-focused terminal degrees with at least 10 years of combined professional and academic experience. Faculty are proficient at assisting you in reaching academic success.

ALL LEVELS OF WORK EXPERIENCE WELCOME. Previous work experience is desirable but not required.

    This course examines the strategic management, implementation, and oversight of marketing programs within an organization. A strong focus is placed on analyzing internal and external environments for controllable and uncontrollable market variables. Students will apply the marketing mix of place, price, promotions, and product to complex business decisions while maximizing reach to the target market.
  • MKG502 Product and Brand Management
    This course analyzes the strategic implementation of brand and product management campaigns. Students will understand that the internal and external environment and the targeted customers are essential elements within the brand management process. Students will explore the planning, controlling, implementing, and measurement techniques needed to develop an effective marketing campaign for a brand.
  • MKG503 Global Marketing Management
    This course will examine international environments and the economic, cultural, political, and social dimensions that affect marketing considerations. Students will recommend marketing needs through the execution of research, advertising, and supply chain activities. Additionally, students will analyze the similarities and differences in marketing strategies used by companies entering international markets.
  • MKG521 Advanced Marketing Analytics and Research
    This course examines various qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques to research markets through traditional and digital methodologies. Students will analyze available consumer data through digital analytics methodologies focusing on relationships among factors, variables, and consumers. Students will examine how to use research and analytics to make strategic marketing decisions that positively impact organizational effectiveness.
  • MKG522 Consumer Insights and Analysis
    This course focuses on consumer insights by investigating internal and external influences that affect consumer purchase behavior. Students will examine both theoretical and research-based information to develop effective marketing strategies using the consumer decision making process.
  • MKG531 Creative Advertising and Communications
    This course explores advertising and communication activities as part of the creation of an effective campaign. Students will develop components for a creative advertising campaign from ideation to implementation using media analysis and selection, copywriting, design fundamentals, and communication strategy.
  • MKG532 Digital Storytelling
    This course will develop and apply different digital storytelling aspects to build brand awareness and stakeholder value. Students will focus on ways to differentiate a brand digitally through using various storytelling mediums. Additionally, students will manage a brand's online reputation and gain hands-on experience creating digital content for a brand using various storytelling components.
  • MKG541 Strategic Internet Marketing
    This course explores companies, platforms, and technologies used in digital marketing environments. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the strategy development for online campaigns through theory and various software platforms to automate marketing tasks and gain consumer intelligence.
  • MKG542 SEM and SEO Marketing
    This course will examine the differences between search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO). Students will analyze SEM and SEO and determine how marketers can use these concepts to reach customers effectively. Additionally, students will employ various SEO tactics to develop marketing strategies and make SEM recommendations to maximize marketing results.
  • MKG550 Ethical and Legal Issues in Marketing
    This course will examine many ethical and legal situations facing marketing managers by exploring case studies and theoretical frameworks. Students will review ethical and legal issues in traditional marketing topics such as advertising, pricing strategies, and product liability, while also examining emerging topics such as social media, privacy, and corporate policies.
  • MKG581 Marketing Capstone
    This course will be a culminating experience of student learning for the program. This course aims to assess the students' ability to synthesize, integrate, and demonstrate knowledge and skills gained throughout the program.
