CSU Global faculty member Dr. David Kenneth Waldman will present on challenges for women and girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) at the International Day of Women and Girls in Science in February. Waldman’s presentation, entitled “From Inspiration to Action: Multi-stakeholder Engagement in Empowering Women and Girls in Science” will focus on barriers to entry, as well as practical policy, institutional, and legal solutions for the inclusion of women and girls in science.
The Inaugural Session of the Commission on Women and Girls in Science and the 2nd commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Center in Valletta, Malta. This second annual event, created through a United National resolution in 2015, is designed to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, set forth by the UN, by increasing the engagement of women in science.
