CSU GLOBAL FACULTY PRESENTS ON LEAN COACHING

CSU Global project management faculty member, Dr. Jeffrey Weide, will present on Lean coaching at two different conferences in April.

Dr. Weide will present at the 10th Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen Life Science Summit. His presentation, “Maximize a Limited Budget to Nurture Lean Leadership Throughout Your Organization” will discuss how to do the following:

• Explore ways of thinking that can be adapted to managerial styles across industry roles.
• Determine program frameworks that position your organization for success.
• Improve processes without jeopardizing your facility’s ability to provide quality service and care for patients.

According to ExL Events, the summit is committed to enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service and care provided by pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare companies. The summit takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 3-4, 2017.

Dr. Wiede will also present on Lean coaching at the 2017 Rocky Mountain Project Management Symposium. Weide’s presentation, “Lean Coaching Models for Rapid Improvement Projects,” will demonstrate how an organization can build up managers to understand a Lean coaching model (based on the Toyota Kata concept). Wiede will also provide a case study example where the coaching model prepared a division of nurse managers to lead their own small-scale projects and improve important, nationally benchmarked, health outcomes.

This 19th annual symposium is presented by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and will cover topics including project management technical skills/tools, Agile, Six Sigma/Lean, PMP exam prep, communication, team building, local projects of interest, and more. The symposium is held in Denver, Colorado on April 14, 2017.
